| | food pantry Our primary service is our food pantry, located at 1010 S. Walnut, just south of downtown Bloomington, Indiana. Our focus is on healthful, wholesome foods, because we believe that everyone, regardless of their situation, needs access to good food. We ask that you meet at least one of these guidelines at the time you receive food. In 2007, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard food pantry: - Assisted an average of 1,450 individuals per week
- Filled 75,017 shopping bags
- Redistributed over 700,000 pounds of food from the Hoosier Hills Food Bank, a retail value of $1.5 million
- Was open 5 days per week, 51 weeks out of the year to serve our clients
Moving $1.5 million worth of food meant each bag of food benefitted our patrons an average of $20.00.
Since our beginnings in 1998, we have cumulatively distributed over 325,000 bags of food and over 3 million pounds of food.
This incredible delivery of services is made possible by the service of over 85 active volunteers who collectively average a total of at least 90 hours per week, and by the following community partners: - Hoosier Hills Food Bank
- Perry Township Trustee
- Community Kitchen
- City of Bloomington, Housing and Neighborhood Development Department
