Cooking Through the Seasons

An idea years in the making has come to fruition: The Hub has a cookbook! Drawing on recipes from our educational programs and community partners, we have assembled over 40 recipes to take you through a year in the Hub garden.

We invite you to cook through the seasons with us in our first cookbook. From foraged flowers and canned tomatoes to veggie-heavy soups served with a simple sourdough loaf, Cooking Through the Seasons is a tour of the garden and beyond. Find simple recipes the whole family can make together, and get a glimpse of what happens in the garden and kitchen classrooms at the Hub.

Cookbooks are available at Gather, the Hub, and in our online store (with pickup at the Hub). Each cookbook sale directly supports the Hub’s free, hands-on educational programming and ensures more equitable food access for all.

We are also excited to invite you to celebrate this milestone with us, check out the cookbook and additional Hub merchandise, visit two great local businesses, and sample recipes from Cooking Through the Seasons at two book launch celebrations!

Drop in at Gather (116 N Walnut St) on Saturday, July 20 from 1 to 3 pm, where we’ll be chatting, snacking on several cookbook recipes, and cheers-ing Cooking Through the Seasons.

Join us at Morgenstern’s (849 S Auto Mall Rd) on Sunday, July 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, where we will introduce the cookbook, host cookbook artist Lily Bird MacNeil-Kitscher, demonstrate and sample a cookbook recipe, and have space to take community questions.

Did you grab a cookbook? Share the recipes you get up to with us by tagging @mhcfoodpantry on Instagram! We'd love to see this community-driven cookbook being put to use.
