Hub Tool Share

The Hub Tool Share is a lending library of cooking and gardening tools, designed to make growing and processing food at home simple, affordable, and exciting.

Members are able to visit MHC any time the pantry is open, and check out a wide range of tools, from crockpots and pasta-makers to rototillers and trowels.  The Tool Share helps households try new cooking and gardening methods, preserve fresh produce for seasons to come, and try their hand at growing delectable vegetables at home.

Curious What's in the Tool Share?

MHC's Tool Share offers tools for home cooks and gardeners alike. We offer many tools, which can be viewed on our inventory website by clicking here

Unfortunately we are unable to reserve tools at this time, but members are welcome to call and check if an item is available.

Become a Tool Share Member

To borrow a tool, the first step is to become a Tool Share member!

  • To sign up, fill out a Tool Share Member Application or stop by the pantry.

  • Individuals will need to provide an active phone number or email address to register.

  • Membership is free for MHC patrons and volunteers, with a suggested donation of $12 annually for those who don’t qualify to use our food pantry services.

  • Members may borrow up to 2 items at a time, and loans range from 1 week to 3 months.

  • Local organizations can sign up for a Community Partner membership in order to utilize tools for their programs.

Donate to the Tool Share

The Hub Tool Share is made possible through a grant from The City of Bloomington Department of Economic and Sustainable Development. While we currently have a variety of tools available, we are always happy to review potential tool donations. If you are interested in making a donation, please contact Alissa at
