Ways to Give

Through your Individual Retirement Account (IRA): Donors aged 70 ½ + who make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard from their IRA can do so without treating the distribution as taxable income (up to $100,000 annually). Not only does this allow donors to direct otherwise taxable income to their favorite charity, at and after age 73 distributions count toward the IRA owner’s Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Consult your financial advisor for more information.

Through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF): A DAF is an investment account that supports charities of the donor’s choosing. Contributions to the DAF, such as stocks, cash, and other assets, are eligible for immediate tax deduction for the donor, and are then invested for tax-free growth to support a qualified charity, like Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard. Consult your financial advisor for more information.

Give the gift of stock. Through the gift of appreciated stock, you can make an impactful gift to MHC and also save yourself the capital gains tax. A gift of stock is especially beneficial to you, the donor, if your stock has significantly risen in value, and/or if you’d like to maximize your tax deduction while maintaining your cash assets. Reach out to Erika or Megan at (812) 355-6843 for donation instructions.

Online: Make a safe and secure online donation via credit card or directly from your bank account. You can choose to make your online gift one time or recurring annually, quarterly, or monthly. Complete the form to the left, or click here to make your online donation.

By Check: Mail your gift to Mother Hubbard's Cupboard (1100 W. Allen Street, Bloomington, IN 47403) or drop it off at MHC anytime Tuesday - Thursday 10 AM - 6 PM.
