Leave a legacy

As the Hub reaches the landmark anniversary of 25 years serving our community, we are preparing for what the next 25 years may hold: more shared meals, more meeting patrons where they are, more time together growing resources and skills. Your contributions and membership in our Hub community have brought us here–and we know that your support can carry us forward for decades to come.

As we reflect on the history of the Hub, we invite you to join us in building its future. Legacy giving offers donors a way to ensure lasting impact and support of the Hub, often enabling our supporters to make a larger gift than is feasible during their lifetimes. Below are two of the lowest-barrier, high-impact ways to support our organization.

Add Mother Hubbard's Cupboard to your will

While there are numerous ways to build the Hub into estate planning, among the simplest is adding our organization as a beneficiary in a will. This style of giving offers you flexibility and control, while also supporting the Hub in a direct and efficient way that will offer a deep, lasting impact on our ability to sustain programming. To get started, here is sample language you can share with your attorney:

“I hereby give, devise and bequeath to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, or its successors in interest, with offices at 1100 W. Allen Street Bloomington, Indiana 47403, federal tax ID 35-2082414, the sum of $____, exclusive of my lifetime donations, if any, to be used for Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard’s most urgent priorities as determined by its board of trustees in their sole discretion.”

Name Mother Hubbard's Cupboard as a beneficiary

Making the Hub a beneficiary on a life insurance, or accounts ranging from 401(k)s and individual retirement accounts to savings accounts offers many donors a means of giving back at a level far greater than we each could in a given year. These adjustments can be made easily within each account.
